OBITTheodore Ayres, Farmer, 73 Years old, Is Dead (note the spelling of the last name)
Theodore Ayres, 73, for the past thirty years a farmer in the vicinity of Fort Collins, died of heart trouble Monday at 12:30 p.m. at his farm six miles south on the Shields street road.
For the past two years Mr.. Ayres has been failing in health and recently his condition became critical. With him at the time of his death were his two sons. Frank and Fred Ayres, who had made their home with him. Another son, Ernest, whose home is in Pine Grove, Calif. and three daughters, Mrs.. Martha Brown of Lawrence, Kans., Mrs. Mary Owens of Laramie, and Mrs. Rose Tepfer of Livermore, were also at his bedside when he passed away.
Mr. Ayres was born at Spear Lake, Ia., April 10, 1857. He came to Fort Collins in 1900.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Day's Funeral home. The Rev. Charles M. Tressner Officiating. Interment will be made in Grandview cemetery.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theodore graduated from Dennison College in Dennison, Iowa. My records list his father and grandfather as both - Framces there for Bill Owen's name as Frances. According to my memory my grandfather (Theodore) died in 1929.
In his later years, he lived in Project City, CA which is not the City of Shasta Lake.

Dora Ellen Ayers
Long-time Biggs resident Dora Ellen Ayers, 91, died at home of natural causes on Friday, July 17,1987. She was born in Exedir, Missouri on Jan. 24, 1896.
She is survived by daughter Alice Anthony, Oroville; Ruby Coykendall, Oroville; Rosalie Purtle, of the home; Lillie May Muller, Healdsburg; Darlene McKibben, Palermo; and one son, Ted Ayers of Hamilton, Montana. Also surviving are one sister, martha Cain of Marysville and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
We also think that Ernest V Ayers may have been married prior to marrying Bernice Beveridge. We believe this because this because of a picture of two couples. Ernest Vernon Ayers is in the photo and the back (of the photo) the name of Marguerite Ayes is written. A cousin of Evelyn Ayers (Alice Anthony) has told us that Ernest V Ayers was never married to this woman.We actually don't know!

He was an expert and a buyer of furs.
Relatives said Mary had dark red hair.
